This shade of blue got me screaming like Samantha Jones. It's shape is almost identical to my favorite sofa, and it's in my current favorite color. When we recently went to buy a sofa for the new house, we wanted to get the Ikea Karlstad in Korndal Blue, as seen in this post of Hidden in France. Our current sofa, armchair and footstool are all off-white, almost identical to the ones in the above picture. We meant to combine those with the new blue sofa but unfortunately they didn't have it anymore. We got another color and don't regret it, it is SO comfortable.

My mom wants to put short, blue and white check curtains somewhere in the house... (Busted! Sorry mom, I guess I was only half-listening...) We have new wooden dining chairs for the kitchen and are on the hunt for cute cushions, and the style above is exactly what we had in mind, only we want patterned instead of solid. Maybe the owners of this house and us are decorating soulmates.

"Necklace and Clothes" by Hung Ming Chien. It is visually stunning, and I could really use something like this for those clothes that are too dirty for the closet but too clean for laundry basket. I think it's the design of the hangers that make this so stylish. Still, I have to admit I'm tempted to string some large wooden beads and totally DIY this.

"Button Stool" by Josef Frank. I think Ikea's new PS collection took some inspiration from Josef Frank, who died in 1967. For example the button stool in the above picture is very similar to this new Ikea PS stool, and this cabinet of his seems to be the inspiration of this Ikea one.

Dear E., thank you for your concern. Thankfully I'm not having health problems. I'm just kicking back after a very stressful month of April. I admire and love all the bloggers who come up with daily posts, but I post either when I come across something that I think is worth archiving, or simply when I feel like it. I believe in quality over quantity. Believe it or not, I don't even check my analytics. This blog serves as my online base. It's a hobby, not a service. Even if no one read it, I still wouldn't give it up. On the other hand, anyone who finds my blog worth visiting makes me happy, any comment you leave totally makes my day. If you like my blog, you can subscribe so you won't have to lose time checking it when there are no updates.

4- I love how everything appears to be white but the walls actually are not white. The soft color is adding so much warmth and depth!

You might think white hallways are a good idea, but I would advise against it. We used to have a white entrance and every little bit of dirt/hair that comes from the street would show and gross us out.

Guess what... This is one of the top 5 most beautiful houses I have ever seen. Everyday more reasons come up for me to fall in love with Sweden and the impeccable taste of the Swedes. This house inspired me to combine a bit of Google Translator, some image searching and some guessing to try to understand what these beautiful pictures are about. Enjoy!

I love that there is a rack for non-kitchen objects. You could just grab the beautiful umbrella and the wicker cart to pick fresh flowers from the garden despite the rain.

The old, sea-colored chair serving as a bookshelf. Flowers from the garden. Again, I love how fresh flowers in glass vases are scattered randomly around the house, giving it life without being the focus.

The small garden house has a ceiling covered with wistaria. I wish I could be there and smell it when it is in bloom! Hanni decorated the room with fresh roses from the garden. It has great view too, the window overlooks Öresund.

Küçük bahçe evinin çatısı mor salkım ile kaplıymış. Keşke açtığında orada olabilsem de koklaya koklaya otursam orada! Hanni ayrıca odayı bahçeden topladığı güllerle süslemiş. Bunca güzelliğe bir de manzarası olsaydı demeyin, var çünkü: Oresund Boğazı'na bakıyor o pencere.

Hanni decorated this room as an enjoyable place for her grandchildren when they come to visit. Most of the toys are flea market finds. Is it me or are those cushions actually these from Ikea?

Uzun süredir takip ettiğim, ABD'de yaşayan İsveçli bir tasarımcıya ait Red.House adlı bir blog var. İsveç (ve İskandinav) stiline bayılıyorum; mobilyalarına, estetik anlayışlarına. Ama bir kelime dahi İsveççe bilmediğim için Red.House gibi bloglar onların tasarımla alakalı haberlerine ulaşmak için çok faydalı oluyor. Bir süre önce Red.House blog'unda sevimli bir resim yayınlamıştı, kaynağına tıklayınca o resmin aslında eski İsveç kartpostal müzesinden geldiğini, ve orada onun gibi daha pek çok sevimli eski kartpostallar olduğunu gördüm. There is a blog called Red.House, owned by a very tasteful Swedish designer who lives in the USA. I just loovvveee Swedish style, furniture, their sense of estethics, but I don't speak a word of their language so Red.House is a great blog to keep in touch with Swedish design-related things. Anyways, she had posted an adorable picture a while ago, and I checked out the source and found out that it was a vintage Swedish postcard, and there were many other cute cards where it came from!
